Barbeque Beef Sandwiches

 

Ingredients:

 

2 ½ – 3 lbs. Chuck Roast

1 large onion

2 tablespoons shortening

2 tablespoons lemon juice

3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons vinegar

1 cup catsup

4 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoons mustard

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ cup water

Dash of pepper

 

Directions:

Salt and pepper meat. Melt shortening. Add rest of ingredients, (that you already mixed up) to a covered pot with the meat. Cook 3-4 hours on 350 degrees or until tender. Cool – remove meat and shred with a fork. Add meat to sauce and serve on a bun.

 

This was always a party favorite. Mom always made huge batches of this for parties or Saturday night dinners with chips and corn.
