Pie Crust

Ingredients for one crust pie:

1/3 C plus 1 T shortening or 1/3 C lard
1 C flour
1/4 t salt
2 to 3 T cold water

Ingredients for two crust pie:

2/3 C plus 2 T shortening or 2/3 C lard
2 C flour
1 t salt
4 to 5 T cold water

Directions:

Add flour salt and shortening to a bowl.

Cut shortening into the flour using a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture resembles small peas.

Slowly add the water while stirring with a fork and the flour is all mixed in.

Divide the dough into two halves if creating a two crust pie.  Roll the dough into a circle adding flour as needed.

Lay a crust into a pie plate, use a fork to put air holes into the bottom crust.

Bake according to pie recipe and filling directions.
