Texas Sheet Cake
Ingredients:
2 sticks margarine (mom called it oleo)
1 C water
4 T cocoa
2 C flour
2 C sugar
½ t salt
Directions:
Bring margarine, water and cocoa to a boil.
Put the flour, sugar and salt in a separate bowl.
Add the hot mixture to the flour mixture.
Add:
2 eggs
½ cup sour cream
1 t soda
Mix together and pour into a greased cookie sheet/cake pan. (deeper than a cookie sheet)
Bake 20 minutes on 400 degrees
Frosting:
1 stick margarine
4 T cocoa
7 T milk
Bring to a boil.
Pour into 1 lb of confectioner’s sugar (10X), add 1 t vanilla. Blend completely.
Ice cake hot out of the oven (seriously) and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
